Hey there, welcome to my blog!
I am an island girl who likes to travel, eat good food, and read a book in my free time. In my professional life, I
am a social entrepreneur working in media and communications for development.
I was born and raised in Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean. After high school, I decided to study
Agriculture at university. The difference between the shy and quiet girl I was in secondary school and the person I
became at university was huge. I can describe my school days as being invisible. I knew I was neither weak nor less
worthy, but I just didn’t have the opportunity to shine. I was always in the middle of the pack and demotivated.
Choosing something different for my tertiary studies was the door that opened for me. Being able to connect with
nature and engage in leadership activities boosted my confidence and helped me understand my passion and potential.
Writing became a way to share my thoughts, and this is how this blog was created in 2010.
I started by sharing my thoughts about my day or simply sharing the YouTube link of a song that I liked. Gradually,
I began writing about my adventures in Agriculture and Youth Leadership, which shaped the themes of this blog.
Fourteen years have passed, and many things have happened. Among the highlights is that this blog enabled me to win
1st Prize in the first edition of the Youth in Agriculture Blog Competition (YoBloCo Awards) in 2012.
Professionally, I had the opportunity to work in the Netherlands for three years, and then I moved to Burkina Faso,
where I’m currently based. Overall, I have worked with various regional and international organisations on their
agriculture, communications, and media projects. In the process, I’ve also been fortunate enough to travel to over
40 countries across the globe. My professional profile is available on the resume page of this blog.
Last but not least, I am the happy wife of the Burkinabè who stole my heart with his vision of life and the proud
mom of two little boys who make me smile daily.
I am glad to be back to blogging and hope to share more stories about things happening around me!
