The CTA Youth Stakeholder Workshop is currently being held in Wageningen, the Netherlands from 14-16 November 2012. Around 25 participants and CTA staffs were present at the event, and the official opening was done by the Director of CTA, Mr. Michael Hailu.

The objective of the first day of the workshop was to hear from the partners and learn from them. The first presentations were from CTA that gave an over-view of their activities and initiatives in the area of Science, Technology and Innovation, Agricultural and youth policies, and ICTs in Agriculture.
During the different panels, the partners shared their experience in the area of Youth and Agriculture and gave examples of the initiatives that are being taken to involve the youth in agriculture for food security, poverty eradication and also to reduce unemployment rate. (Please find the Agenda of the workshop HERE)

Interesting examples were shared at the workshop by YAM Pukri Association, FAO, IFAD, YPARD, CAFAN, SPC, Ndola Youth Resource Centre and Azur Development.
